BirD-elicious! foods are the very next best to feeding fresh! Many of us know that if we could feed fresh, whole-foods to our birds, in just the right proportions of nutrients, our birds would be healthier and happier more often than not.

Bird owners have tried to feed fresh and nothing else, but alas, the cutting, chopping, mixing, refrigerating, repeated trips to the grocery store, all add up to TIME, something most of us don't have much of. In addition, bird owners can never be sure if they are combing the fresh foods in just the amounts to equal complete nutrition on even a weekly basis, let alone a daily basis.

This is one of the reasons we developed Species-specific BirD-elicious! Now there is no more guess in feeding fresh! With more than 30 to 50 different ingredients in our species-specific formulas, variety is the spice of life for companion birds! We have formulated "BD" in such a way to mimic the "way of nutrition" birds would enjoy in nature. Our foods are "whole-foods" in that they have not been ground down to a fine powder, leaching out the bulk of nutrients. Our foods contain the size of individual food ingredients that birds would most likely "bite off" in their normal foraging and eating habits. And speaking of foraging, "BD" provides plenty of opportunity for rummaging through their food bowls satisfying their natural urge to pick and choose while "beaking" the many different textures of "BD".

Because we cannot ship our foods fresh and moist, we gently dehydrate each formula to the specific amount of dryness it needs to be to insure safe packaging, shipping and storage. Dehydration is one of the oldest forms of food preservation. And we gently dehydrate using a two or three step process, depending on the particular species-specific formula we are producing at the moment, never exceeding temperatures that will kill the natural nutrients. That's why our foods don't contain synthetic vitamins. In addition, our foods can be shelved for at least 6 months and still maintain their freshness if kept in their original package. But "BD" will last much longer than 6 months without spoilage. The end result is that your feathered friend is supplied with "whole-food nutrition" without losing naturally occurring nutrients, with a variety of species-specific nutrient-rich ingredients, all 100% human-grade, wild-crafted-natural and certified organic foodstuffs, preserved only by Mother Nature with the natural preservatives found in individual foods such as vitamin C, vitamin E, rosemary, lemon, sea salt and others. It is just like feeding fresh without the high moisture content of some of the pelleted diets. Yes, our foods, even though they are whole-foods, actually contain less moisture than most pelleted diets. This insures that you, the consumer, are paying for actual foods, not water. Then once you actually feed our foods to your bird, if you like you can re-hydrate it with pre-warmed, filtered water if you find your bird prefers warm, moist food.

All in all, our foods are the most complete feeding regimen on the commercial bird food market today. We don't take anything out of the ingredients. We don't add anything, that isn't already present, to the ingredients, we don't extrude, press or bleach any of the ingredients, we don't use GMO's, chemical preservatives, foods with pesticide residues, fillers such as corn, wheat or rice, or commonly known allergens such as peanuts and soy. After you bird has been enjoying BirD-elicious! for a couple of months, you will actually see the food consumption decrease while maintaining proper weight. Why? Because our foods are so packed with whole-food nutrition that their caloric and nutritional needs are better fulfilled than with nutrient-leached foods that are filled back up after production with corn, wheat and rice fillers and laboratory-produced synthetic vitamins. The end result is a bird who eats a balanced diet rich in naturally occurring nutrients who is nutritionally satisfied, emotionally well and happy with life in general!
